Månen (The Moon), is a magical place, where nature provides peaceful
inspiration for your words during all seasons.
You will have complete seclusion.
Located in a 'Naturskyddsområde' (Protected nature area), and
surrounded by old growth forest- except to the east-
where a panoramic vista across the Klarälven valley unfolds to distant hills.
Månen is 71kms. north of Karlstad. The closest small town is 11kms. away, where you'll find a supermarket, etc. A superb organic stoneoven bakery (Höje Vedugnsbageri) is 3kms. Cycling here for your fresh, warm, morning bread, then back to the house for breakfast will be a pleasure ritual of your stay. Torfolk Gård (5kms.) is one of Sweden's best organic farms, selling their own produce in a shop with a surprisingly wide variety of organic groceries and body care items.

A twenty minute walk uphill from Månen yields a more extensive
view to the Klarälven (Sweden's longest river), and at the summit is a seldom visited
Bronze Age gravesite.
For you to explore more of the surrounds I have a spare kayak and bicycle.
Parking for Månen is 200m. from the house. While some people
might be put off by this, I hope that you can understand my wish to
keep this special place car-free. A handcart is there for you to transport things from your vehicle.
There is a large grassy area outside the house, beyond which is a summer wildflower meadow- then endless forest.
A veranda faces east, and is a good place to sit outside if it's not too cold.
Inside, the hallway opens to a kitchen area with a large fridge,
a traditional woodstove- an electric stove if you prefer, and a
big round wooden table. From the kitchen is an early morning sun lounge,
with a writing desk, antique books, and a table for jigsaw puzzles etc.
The living room has a large woodstove , a very comfortable, new sofa,
and the space which extends from here, has another writing desk
and separate sofa.
Into the bedroom you'll find a queen size bed with organic linens.
The bathroom is large with an attached room for your personal storage and spare bed linens, towels etc.
There is no shortage of water but the shower pressure is fairly low (though I find it adequate),
and is due to the fact that the pure, untreated water flows down the hillside to the well -and onwards to the house- assisted only by gravity.

I hope that any guests will share my strong eco consciousness.
Non-smokers please. No smoking allowed anywhere on the property due to high fire risk.
The structures- to the N. and S.- seen when zooming in on Google Maps, are outbuildings,
and all part of Månen.
