Hosts Joe and Joy have created a home that’s as welcoming as they are. Joe’s an author, and you’ll find his books dotted around—he’ll happily sign one for you to take home as a souvenir (he’s friendly like that). Joy’s got an eye for making spaces cosy and inviting, so expect a place that’s as warm as it is stylish.
Perched in a charming Canarian village, this detached cottage promises privacy, comfort, and some truly show-stopping views. On a clear day, you’ll be treated to a panorama that sweeps over neighboring villages, across the ocean, and even stretches to three other islands. The huge garden, shaded by trees, is your personal haven—perfect for soaking up the sun or watching the clouds drift lazily by, coffee in hand, serenaded by birdsong.
Inside you'll find a beautiful double bedroom with a modern, en suite bathroom, featuring a spacious walk-in shower.
The kitchen has everything you need including an oven, hob, washing machine, microwave and coffeemaker.
The living room has a smart TV, a sofa bed and patio doors that open into the garden.
This is no tourist hotspot, but that’s precisely the allure. Instead, Casa Joy offers peace, quiet, and direct access to hiking trails that spider-web out from the village, leading you through stunning natural scenery in every direction. Just six minutes from the motorway, it’s easy to explore the island, but once you arrive, you might just decide to stay put, basking in the tranquility of this hillside retreat.
Although the village is as quiet as you’d hope, it’s within easy reach of local gems like Playa San Juan and Alcalá—traditional fishing villages just 12 minutes away, offering beaches, shops, and restaurants. If you’re more of a steak-and-wine connoisseur, the best restaurant on the island (according to Joe and Joy) is just a three-minute drive down the road. But don’t worry, they’ve left a treasure trove of personal recommendations at the house, so you’ll never be short on things to do—if you can tear yourself away from that view, that is.
